Arrive to UT Swim Center: 7:45am
When you arrive, find Coach Calver and get a tattoo for deck privileges.
Meet Start : 9:30 am
Meet End : 2:00pm
Meet entries have been sent out to swimmers. Swimmers need to consult with the Coach before and after each of your swims.
This is a timed finals event, so the Friday AM session is the whole meet (NO prelims one day, finals the next day sort of set up). Swimmers will be excused from the whole school day.
Teams are only allowed to enter 4 swimmers into each individual event (and 1 relay for each of the 3 relay events). The top six finishers in each event will advance to our Regional Meet at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium, next weekend February 1-2 (we will leave Thursday, Jan. 31 around 1:00 pm). *Being on a top 6 relay team does not guarantee traveling to Regionals. We will have many swimmers who can swim 3 relays at Regionals if they do not move on in both their individual events. Schools can change their qualifying relays.
Cheer on your teammates. Swim best times. HAVE FUN!
TRAVEL: No bus will be provided. Provide your own transportation. Parking is a little bit of a pain and it is not cheap. You will get a ticket if you try to park in one of the lots in front of the swim center. Click here for a map and rates. You can park at either the Trinity, Brazos, or Manor Garages (on the attached map they are marked in orange and labeled TRG, BRG, and MAG.) If your parents drop you off have them do so at the front entrance to the pool. Street parking is available but you can only pay for 3hrs at a time, some meters are coin and some are cards.
TIMERS: We need 3 volunteers total. 2 timers and 1 safety marshall. 1 standby volunteer would be good to have too. Please contact Coach Calver if you are able to help out. The meet should take about 4 hours; we could split up a shift if need be. Thank you!!
TIMELINE / HEAT SHEET: The timeline/heatsheet will get emailed out as soon we receive it.
RELAYS: Coach Calver will let you know which relays you’re swimming during practice next week. Relays will not be officially finalized until Friday morning right before warm-ups for the meet (although most swimmers will be told if /what relays they’re most likely swimming beforehand).
Swimmers please make sure that you have the following items for the meet:
2. Goggles (least two pair)
3. Swim cap
4. Towels (about three)
5. All Team Gear: uniform/sweats, t-shirt, backpack, & parka
6. Any other items that you deem important (money)
